"Doc" John Mayhew


Doctor John Mayhew had been the All Blacks' official doctor since 1988. He had seen off five All Blacks coaches and treated more than 250 players - with such diverse medical conditions as the common cold to the now famous nephrotic syndrome (Jonah Lomu). His tenure with the All Blacks finished after the 2003 World Cup. Doc is now with the Warriors and runs a successful sports medicine clinic at the Millenium Institute in Auckland, NZ.

 Dave Hadfield


Dave Hadfield is one of New Zealand’s best known and most experienced mental skills trainers and coach educators/mentors. He holds a Diploma in Management, a B.A. in Social Sciences, a Masters degree in Psychology and has received elite level 3 coaching status from both New Zealand Cricket and the Australian Cricket Board.
Dave lectured in leadership, coaching and sport psychology at Massey University for a number of years and during that time he has acted a sport psychologist to a number of teams and has also consulted with a wide range of athletes from Olympic and Commonwealth Games level to elite youth and club level.
Dave has been coaching director for Central Districts Cricket in New Zealand, a coach of CD age group teams and CD senior selector (2003-2004).
From 2000-2003 Dave worked under contract as the sport psychologist and coaching consultant to the Wellington Lions and the Hurricanes and has also set up and run the Hurricanes Academy.
In 2003, Dave has set up his own company, MindPlus, and now works as a consulting mental skills trainer and high performance/coaching consultant to athletes and teams and to corporates. He has also taught his concepts to NZ Police training courses.
He is contracted to the NZRU as a resource coach and has worked with 21 NPC teams and three Super 12 (Hurricanes, Highlanders, Crusaders) teams in the last 5 seasons as well as the Northampton Saints in the UK. He has also worked with the New Zealand U19s and U21s, the Black Ferns and 13 of the 14 NZRU regional Academies.
Dave is an innovative thinker, a provocative, humourous and lively presenter who is in high demand as a speaker and consultant throughout New Zealand and off-shore.
